Free Contemporary Mandala and Doily Crochet Patterns
- Mandala Madness 18-part crochet-along — This is an ambitious design that results in a truly spectacular project. If you use worsted weight yarn for crocheting this mandala, it will most likely result in a round blanket measuring more than 6 feet across. You can use crochet thread or finer yarn to make a smaller mandala that’s still larger than your typical round doily. The pattern was designed by Helen Shrimpton at the Crystals and Crochet website.

Vintage Crochet Doily Patterns
From 1998 until 2008, I used to sell vintage crochet patterns and other interesting items on eBay. I had an ultra talented customer named Demet who occasionally bought pattern books from me. Demet is seriously talented, and doilies were her favorite projects to crochet. She took this photo of one of her projects and shared it with me. I am sorry to say that I have long since forgotten which pattern book this beautiful doily pattern came from.
