Out of all the places I’ve been, if I could return anywhere, I would go back to Teulada Marina on the Island of Sardinia. I’ve met so many lovely people while traveling, but the people there stand out in my memory as having been amazingly kind to my husband and me while we were passing through.
We arrived by sailboat, and so we didn’t have a car anywhere we went. Locals we met in Teulada Marina offered to give us their car keys so we could drive into town and resupply. Our jaws dropped. Our own parents don’t offer us that, and we didn’t even speak the language.
A lovely couple we met cooked a meal for us aboard their boat, and I think that was probably the most amazing “home-cooked” (“boat-cooked”?) meal I have ever experienced — just one incredible experience after another there. And their island is spectacular! I wish everyone could go there and experience their sandy beaches, the calm waters surrounding their island and the lovely island ambiance there, and best of all, the charming, hospitable people. I really do!
