Lovely Flower Loom Crochet Patterns, Instructions and Ideas
Flower Loom Crochet Books:
Crochet Loom Blooms by Haafner Linssen; Published by Interweave

Crochet Loom Blooms is a gorgeous, full-sized, 128-page book on the topic of how to make flowers using a flower loom — plus the book also gives you instructions for how to make your flowers into finished projects using crochet. This is the most comprehensive resource I know of on the topic of flower loom crochet techniques. It’s also a truly beautiful book.
I just posted a book review of Crochet Loom Blooms. The short version of my book review: DEFINITELY buy this book if either the topic of flower loom crochet or the topic of crochet itself interests you. The projects included in the book are all stunning; and out of all the books I’ve seen on the topic of flower loom crochet, this one has the broadest variety of flower patterns. There are a total of 30 different flower designs all together, and there are instructions for 5 finished projects. The book also includes templates for making your own flower looms, and it comes with a cardboard starter loom you can use until you buy or create a more substantial flower loom to use.
Crochet Loom Blooms is well worth the money; I highly recommend the book to crafters of all skill levels, even total beginners.

You can see an example of one of the projects in the photo above; that’s how my “Vintage Potholder” from the book turned out. I’m thrilled with it, and I think you’ll be just as thrilled with the projects you make from the book if you decide to add it to your library.
Flower Loom Crochet by Beth Ham & Kristen Mangus, Published by Annie’s Crochet

Flower Loom Crochet is a slim, 32-page paperback book that’s packed with an astonishing amount of information considering the compact format. This is another fantastic book that’s well worth owning. In this booklet, you’ll find instructions for 5 different loomed flowers and 8 finished projects that incorporate either crochet or the hot glue gun craft technique. The book includes a lovely variety of inspiring projects.

Make Yourself 1,000 Flowers — Mon Tricot — Vintage Flower Loom Pattern Book

I took this picture in 2005, and now I’m a little vague on the details of what this book’s contents are like. I’m also not entirely sure what happened to the book. It’s either in storage in my Uncle’s garage, or I sold it a long time ago — can’t remember exactly. I’m planning to look for it shortly, and will update with an actual description of this book in the event that I can find it.
I’m normally a HUGE fan of vintage crochet and craft patterns — but in the case of flower loom patterns and instructions, I think the newer material that’s becoming available is much better. I own several vintage flower loom instructional leaflets. In my opinion, all of them are underwhelming compared to the two newer books I’ve mentioned above. If you have money to spend on flower loom crochet patterns and instructions, I’d recommend buying either (or both!) of the two titles linked above rather than buying the vintage booklets (unless you are able to find them at a library sale, garage sale or used bookstore VERY inexpensively).
Right now, my vintage flower loom pattern books are stored in my uncle’s garage while I’m in transition from moving. I’m planning on retrieving them and reviewing them for you shortly, but like I hinted above, my opinion of these titles is not all that favorable.
New Flower Looms
I don’t actually own any of the new flower looms, so I haven’t reviewed any of them yet. I’ll be adding to this section of the page as I review new flower looms. In the meanwhile, I’ll mention the loom that the authors of my two favorite flower loom crochet books have recommended:
The Clover Hana-Ami Flower Loom
The Clover Hana-Ami flower loom is the loom used to make the flowers in both of the newer flower loom crochet books I mentioned above.
Vintage Flower Looms
Daisy Looms
I own a bunch of the older vintage Daisy looms. They work well for flower loom crochet projects. Mine are in fragile condition, and several have broken spokes — but then, I haven’t exactly been gentle with them. My set of Daisy looms went sailing along the California coast and then crossed the Atlantic in a 34′ sailboat. The real miracle is that any of them survived those trips. Overall, they’re nice little looms. If you can pick them up at yard sales, flea markets or antique shops at a good price, I think you’ll be satisfied with them; they’re generally great to work with.
