Are you motivated to make a bunch of Christmas crafts this year?
Perhaps you want to make your own Christmas gifts to give to your colleagues, friends and family; or perhaps you’re motivated to make Christmas projects to sell at craft fairs or use for participating in ornament swaps.
Or maybe you just want to make your place look super festive, which is also a worthy goal.
If there’s any reason you’d need to get your hands on bunches of different Christmas craft patterns, you’ll definitely want to consider any of these new Christmas craft books — or perhaps multiple books, depending on how many patterns you actually need.
Craft books give you an economical way to obtain a whole bunch of different craft patterns you can use over and over and over, as many times as you need to, to get all your holiday crafting done. Usually, you get a much better deal when you buy a craft book, than you would get if you were to pay for the same number of single pattern downloads. If you’re on a tight budget for getting your holiday projects made, I would highly recommend looking through this list of the best Christmas craft books, and choosing the one that looks like it has the most projects you would be likely to actually make.

Everyday Books Featuring Christmas Gift-Worthy Craft Patterns
Since just about anything could be a Christmas gift, you don’t always have to choose patterns from specifically Christmas-themed craft books when you make your Christmas gifts. There are plenty of everyday craft books that include gift-worthy patterns. Here I’m going to share the non-Christmas-specific knitting, crochet and craft pattern books that I think are most appropriate for finding outstanding gift-giving ideas.
Crochet Kaleidoscope
Crochet Kaleidoscope is not at all intended to be a Christmas book; I don’t even think the word “Christmas” is mentioned in the book, and none of the projects are specifically intended as Christmas projects. However, that didn’t stop me from using this book to crochet lots and lots of Christmas-themed projects to give as Christmas gifts and use as Christmas decorations. I’ll share a few pictures of projects I made from this book, so you can see what I mean:
Here’s a Christmas ornament I made using one of the triangle patterns from the book. I added a column of single crochet stitches to create the tree trunk, and I stitched on some additional crystal beads that weren’t originally called for in the pattern. Voila: A Christmas project.
Crochet Kaleidoscope offers you other triangle patterns in addition to this one, so you if you don’t mind winging it a little bit when it comes to adding tree trunks and decorations, this book could give you multiple options for creating triangle-shaped Christmas tree ornaments, appliques, etc.
Crochet Kaleidoscope also includes multiple crochet hexagon patterns that could be used as snowflakes, or not. I made some of those into Christmas ornaments too. Check ’em out:
Many of the other crochet motif patterns included in Crochet Kaleidoscope could similarly be used for Christmas. Just crochet them in colors that coordinate with your other Christmas decorations, and they’ll be useful. For example, here’s a flower motif that really isn’t Christmas-y at all, but I crocheted it in red, green and white to make it match my other Christmas decorations:
Overall, Crochet Kaleidoscope is one of my all-time, most-used crochet pattern books; I reach for it constantly when I need Christmas gift ideas and also when I need ideas for making everyday projects.

Crochet Snowflakes Step-by-Step
Snowflakes are Christmas-friendly motifs, but you don’t have to immediately rush to put them away on December 26th when Christmas is done. You can keep using them all winter long. So if you’re hoping to make Christmas projects that also have the potential to remain useful for the entire duration of the winter months, you could definitely consider making snowflake-themed items instead of specifically Christmas-y themed items like Santas, elves and reindeer.
If you’d enjoy working from a book that is specifically dedicated to giving you snowflake motifs, Crochet Snowflakes Step-by-Step is a fantastic book to consider using. This book gives you detailed step-by-step photos and tutorials for making a variety of lovely snowflake motifs. It’s a wonderful book that I highly recommend.

Arne & Carlos Favorite Designs
Arne & Carlos are a couple of Europe’s most popular craft pattern designers. This book is a retrospective of their favorite designs collected from bunches of other craft pattern books. Some of the designs in this book are specifically intended to be Christmas patterns, and some of them are suitable for other holidays like Easter and Halloween. The book also includes bunches of “everyday” patterns for things like toys, clothing and accessories.
The vast majority of the projects in this book are gift-worthy; there are bunches of patterns for small, quick, useful items like slippers that would make fantastic Christmas gifts. One of the highlights of the book is a grouping of knitted Christmas ornament patterns; and another one of the highlights is the grouping of fun doll and doll clothing patterns.
Most of the patterns in the book are knitting patterns, but there are also some truly spectacular crochet blanket patterns and some embroidery patterns, too.
If knitting is your favorite or most-used craft technique, I’d recommend this book to you as being the most useful and versatile choice of all the books listed on this page.

Gifted: Lovely Little Things to Knit and Crochet
Whether you’re interested in knitting, crochet, embroidery, felting or other crafts, Gifted has creative ideas you can use for making gift-worthy projects. The projects included in this book all have that one thing in common: They are intended to make impressive gifts to give to your inner circle.
Most of the project ideas included in the book are for knitters; and quite a few of them involve felting (more appropriately known as “fulling”). There are also wonderful crochet project ideas included, but I think knitters will get the best value out of this book overall.
