The Best Forest-Themed Paper

Stamperia’s Forest Collection

If you’re looking for papers that make ordinary forest creatures like foxes and fish appear extraordinary and beautiful, you’ll want to check out Stamperia’s stunning forest-themed collection of scrapbooking papers and related supplies.

Important Note: Stamperia also has a similar “Magic Forest” paper collection designed by a different artist, Antonis Tzanidakis.

A few selected items from the Magic Forest paper collection are on my wish list, and this collection seems like it would be a fantastic candidate for inclusion on this list of best forest-themed craft supplies.

So, if fairy tale magic is your jam, I think you might be interested to know about this collection. I love much of the imagery in the collection, but personally, when I’m documenting my hiking adventures, I prefer to stick to reality rather than wandering off into the realm of fantasy. So I haven’t personally made this collection a top-priority purchase. But your mileage may vary!

The Great Outdoors Collection by Mintay Papers

Polish manufacturer Mintay Papers offers a stunning, detailed collection of masculine-friendly outdoors-themed papers that include hiking and forest-themed imagery.

The Call of the Wild Collection by Echo Park

This outdoorsy paper collection includes fantastic, fun camping and outdoorsy images — tents, campfires, bears, starry night skies and plaids. The fonts on these papers are really trendy and cool — but use caution, because that trendy quality will most likely mean that the projects you make with these papers will eventually start looking dated.

That said, I LOVE THEM!

The Let’s Go Camping Collection by Echo Park

I’m really pleased with the patterned paper and other supplies from this collection, but it’s the “Let’s Go Camping” clear stamps I use most often.

Vintage Artistry Naturalist Collection by 49 and Market

This collection is now hard to find, which is a shame, because it is truly delightful.

The Best Forest-Themed Stamps and Dies

See the stamps and dies from all the above-mentioned paper collections.

In particular, my favorite forest-themed stamps are the ones from the “Let’s Go Camping” collection by Echo Park.

I am not sure whether or not there are coordinating dies for this stamp set; there might be, but I don’t have them in my stash. I’d use the dies if I had them, but I’ve survived just fine without them.

Most days, I stamp one or more images from this stamp set in my planner. Around Christmas time, I also use these stamps for stamping images to make Christmas cards, December Daily projects and other Christmas projects.

The Best Forest-Green Ink Pads

Because I spend much of my life hiking and trekking through forest trails, I create substantial-numbers of nature and forest-themed journal pages and scrapbooking layouts. I hand stamp on most of these projects. My favorite inks (and reinkers) for stamping forest-friendly projects are as follows:

  • Altenew’s Forest Glades Dye ink pad and reinker

  • Altenew’s Frayed Leaf Dye ink pad and reinker; this color pairs beautifully with Forest Glades; you can use these two colors together as lighter and darker tonals in the same foliage or tree image.

  • Tim Holtz’s Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide ink pad and reinker; this is the perfect color for stamping evergreen trees.

  • Tim Holtz’s Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink pad and reinker; this color harmonizes beautifully with Rustic Wilderness, and I often pair it with Rustic Wilderness, using them together in the same plant or tree image as lighter and darker tonals.

  • Tim Holtz’s Stormy Sky Distress Oxide ink pad and reinker; this is a fantastic, not-too-bright sky blue color.

  • Tim Holtz’s Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink pad and reinker

  • Tim Holtz’s Walnut Stain Distress ink pad and reinker

  • Tim Holtz’s Vintage Photo Distress ink pad and reinker

  • Altenew’s Forest Glades Dye ink pad and reinker

The Best Forest-Themed Stencils and Stenciling Media

Echo Park’s 6×6” “Paradise Palms” stencil

This isn’t really intended to be used as a forest-themed stencil, I don’t think. But that’s how I (mis) use it, because to my eyes, the “palms” don’t really look like palms; they look more like ferns. So I use them as ferns along with my other forest-themed craft supplies.

Corner-To-Corner Lap Throws for the Family — A Crochet Pattern Book Published by Annie’s Crochet

Check out a book called Corner-to-Corner Lap Throws for the Family to find he cutest forest-themed crochet pattern I can think of. It’s a Woodland Animals Lap Blanket, and it actually contains 4 patterns in one, because you get instructions for making squares that have an owl, a hedgehog, a raccoon and a fox. You could make the blanket as instructed in the pattern, or you could go off script and use any of the squares in other ways if you have the inclination to get creative.

    The Best Forest-Themed Craft Books

    Mollie Makes Woodland Friends

This book has been out of print for a long time, but it is worth tracking down because it is SO CUTE. However, one of the most important things you need to know about the book is that you don’t actually get project instructions and tutorials for ALL the projects that are included in it. Some of the photos are intended to just be for inspiration.

The book was originally priced very inexpensively, and you might be able to find it even less expensively if you can buy it at Biblio or any of the used book sites. But I definitely would not recommend paying a high price for this book, because the book’s paper and binding quality aren’t that great. If you can get past all those downsides, the book is seriously cute and well worth owning.

Methodology I Used for Creating This List of the Best Forest-Themed Craft Supplies:

A living human being (me – Amy Solovay — not a robot! Not AI!) created this page by drawing on substantial, real-world expertise with art, crafts and craft supplies – and also with wandering around in the woods.

When creating this page of recommendations, (unless otherwise noted,) I stuck to only suggesting and recommending forest-themed-themed craft supplies that I have personally used, enjoyed working with, and was satisfied with overall. What you have here is basically a list of my most-used outdoors, nature and forest-themed craft supplies.

This means that a lot of worthy options were excluded from the list, simply because I haven’t tried them, don’t have any experience with them and can’t definitively recommend them.

Under each subheading, towards the top of this list, you’ll find the forest-themed-themed craft supplies that I tend to use most often and that I think offer you the best value for the money you’ll spend on them.

Under each subheading, the items that you find towards the end of the list are the forest-themed-themed craft supplies that I like and recommend but tend to use less often.

Furthermore, if I discover that a product I’ve recommended has been discontinued or is getting hard to find in stores, I might move it down to the bottom of the list in hopes that you’ll consider that item if you’re already familiar with it and know where to find it, but that you’ll avoid wasting time on a wild goose chase unless you’re considering it as a last resort.

I hope these recommendations are useful to you. Thanks for your visit to KnittingCrochetCrafts.com today!
