Supplies You Will Need to Make This Christmas Card:

Papers from the “Time to Flourish” 8×8 pad by Graphic 45: This pad features 2 papers for every month of the year. I used elements from the papers for December and January.
Cardstock: I used Tim Holtz Heavystock to make the sample card pictured here. There are a couple of good reasons to use this paper: For starters, it is sturdy, and beyond that, it is the ideal color to complement many of the papers in the “Time to Flourish” pad. That said, you have many other choices for cardstock papers that would work beautifully for making this card.
Scor-Pal tool, bone folder or other scoring tool
Envelope: I’ll be sending this card to my mother-in-law in a plain white envelope. I like these Cardmaker’s Choice envelopes by Paper Accents, but there are many possibilities for envelopes that will complement this card design well.
Adhesive: I used Cherry Tape and Glue Dots as the adhesives to make this Christmas card, but you could use pretty much any paper-friendly adhesive for putting this design together.
Paper Trimmer and scissors
Ribbon bow; I used ribbon by Offray to make the sample project pictured here.
Flower embellishment: I used a small paper flower by Accent Scrapbooking. Full disclosure: I am a former Clear Scraps design team member, and I received these flowers for free in my design team box at the time I was working with them. I love them and would buy the flowers again with my own money if I could find them, but I do not think they are available any longer. Happily, pretty much any small flower embellishment will work for this.
Optional: A red ink pad; I used a small Memento ink pad to ink around the edges of the card. I like giving my cards a bit of extra emphasis around the edges, but this extra step is not totally necessary.

How to Make This Christmas Card

The first step in making this card: Transform one sheet of 8.5″ x 11″ Heavystock or cardstock into 2 card bases. You can use them both to make these cards, or you can use one and put one aside to use for making some other card later. To accomplish this, you’ll cut the sheet of cardstock into 2 identical pieces measuring 8.5″ x 5.5″ each. Then use a scoring tool to score and fold the cardstock to create a card measuring 5.5″ wide by 4.25″ tall.

Cut out several of the cut-aparts from the winter pages in the “Time to Flourish” patterned paper pad by Graphic 45. Tape them to the front of your card base.

Cut a bit of ribbon off your spool and tie it in a bow. Use a dot of glue or your preferred adhesive to attach the bow to your flower embellishment, and then use a Glue Dot to attach the flower to your card base.

Carefully ink around the edges of your card if desired.

Add the card to your card stash, or personalize a greeting on the inside and send it off to its recipient.
