Check Out Kaffe Fassett’s Textiles, Quilt Fabrics, Knitting Patterns, Needlepoint Designs, Mosaics, Paintings, Interior Design Work, Color Combinations and Inspiration in the Numerous Books He Has Written
Kaffe Fassett’s work is varied, but the one thing that differentiates it most is masterful use of color. So if I were to summarize his design work in one brief sentence, I’d have to say that he is best known for being a color expert, textile print designer, quilter and an author of craft pattern and design books.
However, his work encompasses more than textile prints and quilts. Kaffe is all of the following:
- A painter of watercolor and acrylic paintings; his most typical works are still life paintings that incorporate interesting combinations of natural or decorative objects such as vases, teapots, textiles, shells and fruits;
- A knitter and crocheter;
- A needlepoint designer, and a stitcher of needlepoint canvases;
- A mosaic artist
- A collaborator; he has worked with big brands such as Coach, Bernina and others to design decorations that adorn mass-produced items such as sewing machines and handbags.
The following are some of the books Kaffee Fassett wrote:

Glorious Color
I recommend all of these books and am working on writing more detailed book reviews of each title.
Important note: This is not a complete list of Kaffe Fassett books. These happen to be the titles of his that I have in my personal library. I’ve read bunches more of his books other than these by borrowing them from the local public library, but by now it has been so long since I read them that I decided to stick to only reviewing books that I actually own.
You might care about my opinion on craft books like these because I am a real person, not a robot or AI. I hold a bachelor’s degree with a studio art minor, and a separate degree in textile design.
