If you want to crochet contemporary lace patterns, there are several outstanding crochet pattern books you need to know about. These books stand out because they offer you some of the most beautiful, appealing and workable crochet lace patterns that are currently available. Here are my top picks for the best crochet lace pattern books:
1. Delicate Crochet by Sharon Hernes Silverman
Delicate Crochet is a collection of exceptionally gorgeous crochet patterns for making shawls, wraps, tops, sweaters, accessories and a skirt. This book doesn’t specifically set out to be a crochet lace pattern book — but many of this book’s featured designs do happen to be exquisitely lacy. The projects in the book are all delicate, feminine and wearable.
This book includes one of my all-time favorite crochet lace patterns. It’s a pattern for a pair of ruffled lace fingerless gloves made using Hawthorne Speckle fingering weight yarn. So far I’ve made 4 pairs of these gloves, and I’m thinking of making some more of them to give as Christmas gifts in 2019.
Other noteworthy lace patterns in the book include the Berrywine Wrap by Sharon Hernes Silverman, which is pictured on the front cover of the book; the Muriel Lace Cardigan by Robyn Chachula; the Iced Silver Fox Top by Kristin Omdahl; the Palmy Cardigan by Rhonda Davis; and many others. You can see pictures of all these projects in my detailed preview of Delicate Crochet..

The crochet lace patterns in this book are absolutely delightful and soooo pretty. If you crochet for a little girl who likes dainty, lacy, girly things, she would be likely to enjoy wearing any of the lovely garments and accessories presented in this book.
