Project Ideas for Using Washi Tape
Wondering what to do with washi tape? Need some washi tape ideas?
No matter what colors, styles and widths of washi tape you might have on hand, the following ideas will help you figure out how to use it.
You’re invited to join the fun! Grab your rolls of washi tape and a few other supplies– possibly a planner, art journal, bullet journal, cardstock or paper. I’ll show you how to use your rolls of washi tape to embellish handmade cards, art journal pages, planner layouts, bullet journal (BUJO) spreads, scrapbooking layouts, scrapbooking mini albums and other projects.
1. My All-Time Favorite, Best EVER Washi Tape Idea: Use Washi Tape for Covering Up Mistakes on Your Projects or Elements You Don’t Necessarily Want
One of my all time, best ever washi tape ideas: Use your washi tape to cover up mistakes you’ve made or things you don’t want on your project. It’s ideal to pair the washi tape with correction fluid to ensure you really get rid of the mistake.
Let’s say, for example, you wrote the wrong date in ink at the top of your page. Ugh!
No problem. Grab some correction fluid and some washi tape. White out the wrong date with the correction fluid and stick a few random pieces of washi tape over the mistake. Then write the correct date — perhaps write it right onto the washi tape, or you could write it in a different spot.
Let’s look at another example. Say you want to use a sticker that has an irrelevant sentiment on it. White out the sentiment you don’t like with correction fluid; then after the correction fluid has dried, slap a few strips of washi tape over the corrected area. I recommend using the correction fluid first because you’ll find that many washi tapes are translucent enough that you can see sentiments or other mistakes through them if you don’t use the correction fluid first.
Craft Projects That Include Washi Tape Ideas
I have created literally hundreds of different craft projects using washi tape and have posted photos of some of my favorites here on this website. Separate web pages are available with more information about most of the washi tape ideas and projects pictured below; if you want to see supply lists for each project — and, in some cases, complete step-by-step instructions — you can simply click or tap on the project photo to be transported to the page about that project idea. If a project isn’t clickable, it’s a brand new one I just added to this page; I haven’t built out separate pages for all these projects yet.
