Remember making Valentine cards as a kid? Wasn’t it fun?
Truth is, I don’t think we need to feel as if we’ve outgrown handmade Valentine cards. I’d definitely include Valentine card making as a possibility on my list of Valentine’s Day crafts for adults.
If you’d like to make special Valentine’s Day cards to give to your friends, family or significant other, you’ll find a bunch of different ideas to choose from. Some of them are ultra fancy. Some of them are romantic and lovey-dovey. And, some of them are just plain cute. Check out these ideas:

9. How to Tie Dye a Heart Shape for a Valentine’s Day T-Shirt
Perhps your Valentine’s Day plans don’t involve dressing up in your best clothes to go out for an evening of dinner and dancing. If you’re keeping it casual this Valentine’s Day, a heart T-shirt could be a cute inclusion in your ensemble. You can use these free instructions to tie dye a heart shape on a plain, solid-colored T-shirt. This project idea is suitable for teens, for any kids who are old enough to be trusted with a needle and thread, and also for adults.

10. and 11. Heart Edgings: Free Crochet Patterns
There are bunches of different ways you could crochet an edging with heart shapes. If that’s what you want to do, I have a free chart you can use. There are zillions of possible ways to interpret the chart, but pictured here, you can see two possibilities. One is a simple, one-color filet crochet interpretation; the other is a two-color version where the heart is cross stitched onto the background of the edging.
The chart works best for crocheting straight edges — for example, if you need an edging to use across the top of a bed sheet, that’s the ideal use case for the filet crochet version of the heart edging, because I didn’t work out a corner for it. 12. Basic Crochet Heart Applique
Need a pretty applique to dress up a Valentine’s Day project you’re working on — perhaps to use as a brooch or to attach to a hat? Or maybe to use as one layer on the top of a handmade Valentine’s Day card? This cute little heart applique might be just what you need. You can embellish it with ribbons, buttons, jewels, bits of lace or just about any other pretty doodad you might have hanging around in your craft supply stash.
