Designed and Photographed by Amy Solovay. I crocheted this version of the sunflower using worsted weight yarn and a size I / 5.5 mm crochet hook.

Skill Level: Easy

Materials:

Yarn, Floss or Thread: You’ll need two different colors of yarn, crochet thread, embroidery floss or other fiber: color A (for the flower center) and color B (for the flower petals.)

In my first example, posted above, color A is brown and color B is yellow.

In my second example, color A is a deep red, and color B is a deep yellow-gold.

Crochet Hook: You’ll need a crochet hook in your preferred size for working with the yarn or thread you’ve selected.

Other: Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Finished Size:

The finished size of your sunflowers will vary, depending on the materials you use to make them.
