How to Make This Card

Oh dear, I forgot to write down exact measurements before I mailed this card off to its recipient. Sorry about that. Normally I would include precise measurements in my instructions. To give you a general idea of the dimensions, the embossed acrylic cupcake measures about 3″ tall. Hopefully the following instructions will still be useful to you, because there is a lot of room for variation in the measurements you choose to make your card:

  • Use your embossing machine and embossing folder to emboss a page from the cupcakes mini clear album by Clear Scraps.
  • Use Liquid Pearls to accent the embossed areas on the cupcake. Set the piece aside to dry.
  • Make the rectangular card base out of Strathmore Bristol board by cutting it out, scoring it using a bone folder or other scoring tool and then folding it in half.
  • Make a rectangular card front that is exactly half the measurement of the folded card base.
  • Make a scalloped border by cutting out a couple of strips of paper using decorative scissors; then layer one of them on top of the other and stitch them together using a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine.

Important Disclaimer: I am a former member of the Clear Scraps design team. Clear Scraps gave me the cupcake mini album I used for making this card. I haven’t been on their design team in many years, and Clear Scraps isn’t paying me to recommend their products; they’ve actually never paid me to recommend their products. I’m recommending them to you because I like them, and I think you will like them, too.
