I created this 6×8″ scrapbooking layout in response to one of the International Scrapbooking Day challenges at a forum where I participate. The challenge was to use a question as the page title of your scrapbooking layout.
I have bunches of travel photos to scrap because my husband, Mike, and I spent about 5 years living aboard sailboats. This is a picture of one of our sailboats, Viva, that we took in the course of our travels.
Craft Supplies You’ll Need to Create a 6″x8″ Nautical / Travel-Themed Scrapbooking Layout Like This One:
- Alphabet Letters for Creating the Page Title: There are many possible ways you can create a page title. For this page, I used Altenew’s Simple Alpha dies and used them to cut my letters out of paper.
- Stamps: I used stamps by Citrus Twist Kits and Hero Arts to create this project.
- Stencil: The background is stenciled using the Waves stencil from the Simple Vintage Seas collection by Simple Stories. This stencil is now hard to find, but there are many comparable wave stencils you could use that would work just as well as this one does.
- Paper: You’ll need plain white cardstock, Bristol Board, or other paper that’s substantial enough to withstand being inked, stenciled, and stamped on. You’ll also need a couple of patterned papers for contrast; I used stand-up paddleboarding themed paper by Reminisce and Vicki Boutin’s “Daisy Chain” patterned paper from the “Sweet Rush” collection.
Thanks so much for taking a look at my project. I appreciate your interest!
