Stamperia’s Silent Sea Paper Collection Was Designed by Cristina Radovan. This Collection Features Papers and Supplies With a Beach Theme.
Do you enjoy spending time at the beach?
Perhaps you’ve taken a beach vacation, or you live near the coast.
Or maybe you’re like me, and you enjoy sailing. Whether you’re a weekend sailor or you do a lot of offshore cruising, either way, you probably end up spending a lot of time on the waterfront.
If you take ocean-themed photos for any reason, you might enjoy using papers from Stamperia’s Silent Sea collection when you create pages for your scrapbooks.
Or if you want to make ocean-themed pages for your art journal, junk journal or traveler’s notebook, this collection offers you a lot of interesting imagery to consider using.
This collection has a moody feel; the beach scenes don’t appear bright, sunny or tropical, and the designs have sort of a Mediterranean vibe.
Like, for example, some of the papers have images featuring succulents and seashells. These are ideal for use with California beach photos, Greek island photos, southern Italy beach photos, etc – but maybe not what you want for using with Hawaii beach photos (if you need ideas for scrapbooking Hawaiian-themed layouts, you might wish to try this page of Hawaii scrapbooking ideas.)
Cristina Radovan is the artist who designed this collection, and she is one of my favorites!
If you’re familiar with her work, you will recognize some of her hallmarks as you look through these papers and supplies. These designs incorporate lovely, subtle spirals and line art mandalas, which are very similar to the ones you’ll find in her other collections like the Forest and Cosmos Infinity collections. I very much enjoy these artistic little touches that make her designs stand out.
Other images incorporated into this collection are as follows:
- Shorelines and ocean waves – This imagery is exactly what I needed, and it’s why I bought papers from this collection. I used ALL of these ocean-themed pages in projects, plus I went back and bought even more so I have some more of them to work with. Love them!
- A campervan (ugh. I am so over the campervan-on-patterned-paper trend. Is it just me?) I used Stamperia’s primer and paints to paint over the campervan on these papers – and the papers are double sided, so you can choose to just use the side that doesn’t have the campervan, if you happen to not like it, either.
- A lighthouse – I normally enjoy light house images, but the ones in this collection are kind of dark and sinister looking, and I really don’t like them. I painted over them with primer and paint before using the papers in this collection.
- Life rings
- Horses — These are super pretty, but I don’t have a use for them, so I used the side of the paper without them.
- Shells and conches
- Crabs, seahorses and starfish
- Boats and oars
- Beach houses
- Anchors
- Lanterns
- Bottle of wine with wine barrel and wine goblets
- A message in a glass bottle
- Coral
- Maps and vintage-looking papers
- Doors and windows that open out onto the beach
- Potted plants; succulents
- Subtle floral patterns
List of the Supplies You’ll Find in the Silent Sea Paper Collection by Stamperia
The Silent Sea Color Scheme: Main Colors Used in These Papers, Embellishments and Other Supplies:
This paper collection’s color palette is soothing, serene and very neutral. It incorporates shades of blue, sandy beige, tan and gray. It is not flashy or eye-catching in any way – so if you’re looking for papers that are bright or vibrant, this is not going to be what you want. But if you’re looking for a relaxed, worn, slightly vintage-looking, beachy vibe, this collection is worth your consideration.

Similar Paper Collections by Stamperia
Stamperia has produced many other delightful paper craft supplies besides the Silent Sea collection. If you’d like to see some additional options, check out the following suggestions, which are similar:
The “Songs of the Sea” Collection by Stamperia — This collection is similar to the Silent Sea collection because both collections feature an ocean them, and because both collections feature imaginative and evocative imagery. Other than that, the collections are very different.
The “Songs of the Sea” collection has a focus on mermaids and bizarre sea creatures, whereas the Silent Sea collection sticks more closely to featuring imagery that resembles real life. You might prefer the “Songs of the Sea” collection if you’re making projects that venture into the realm of fantasy and fairy tales. One of the papers includes images of some strange-looking gods / monsters / chimeras including a creature that appears to be part fish, part horse (I think, but I’m not really sure of my facts on that.) I bought a couple of the papers from this collection that seem a bit less weird; you can see them pictured above.
The Coffee and Chocolate Collection by Stamperia — The only real similarity that these collections share is that they were both designed by the same designer, Cristina Radovan. Otherwise they’re really different, but both are worth checking out. I bought bits from both of them and love them both.

Similar Paper Collections by Graphic 45
If you like the serene blues and tans of the “Silent Sea” collection, you might also enjoy checking out Graphic 45’s “The Beach Is Calling” paper collection, which has a similar theme and colors. One thing I appreciate about this collection: The colors have more contrast, as navy blue is used more prominently throughout the collection.
