Baby blankets are some of the most popular crochet projects ever. They make impressive baby shower gifts. Since babies are prone to wetting their bedding and spitting up on it, they need bunches of blankets; it’s a given that new moms sometimes have a hard time keeping up with the laundry their newborns generate. • This book is an excellent value for the money you spend on it. Not only do you get 5 baby blanket patterns, you also get patterns for accessories to complete matching layette sets. Each layette includes a crocheted baby blanket, a matching crocheted baby hat, a pair of warm booties and a coordinating sweater. You get 20 baby crochet patterns all together.
• Whether you’re expecting a baby boy or girl, you’ll find worthwhile projects either way. Some of these sets have gender-neutral styling and some are better suited for baby girls.
• I successfully completed 2 of the projects in this book, and I found the instructions to be clear and usable. I want to make even more of the projects in this book.

Tunisian Crochet for Baby

The patterns included in Tunisian Crochet for Baby are all patterns for baby projects. They’re all worked in the Tunisian crochet technique utilizing a long crochet hook and rows worked in two passes, the forward pass and the return. The stitches differ somewhat from traditional crochet stitches, with some of them appearing and performing more like knitted stitches.

3 of the projects included in this book are baby blankets, and the rest are baby clothes and accessories. The blankets in this book are particularly nice ones, which is one reason why I’ve included this book on the list of best crochet baby blanket patterns. Here are a few other reasons:

 

• No matter what your crochet skill level is right now, it’s likely to take a step forward after you’re finished working your way through the patterns in this book. There’s a lot to learn here.
• The baby blankets in this book are appealing to many crocheters, as I found out when I posted about this book in my craft blog on another website. More than 50 crafters commented on my blog post to let me know they liked one or more projects in the book, and almost all of them chose one of the baby blankets as their favorite.
• I enjoyed success with making one of the projects from this book, and I found the crochet instructions for the project to be clear and straightforward.
