You could send this greeting card for any occasion like birthdays, anniversaries, weddings or holidays — but you could also send it on non-occasions, just to say “hello”.
Supplies You’ll Need to Make a Similar Greeting Card:
- A flower embellishment: The one pictured on the sample card is a clear acrylic embellishment by Clear Scraps. They are no longer making this specific item, but you can substitute pretty much any simple flower-shaped die cut, chipboard shape or similar embellishment for this.
- Adirondack Alcohol Ink in Wild Plum and Stream
- Magic Mesh — I don’t think Magic Mesh is available any more, but there are a few different ways you can get a similar effect. If I were going to try to replicate this card, I’d probably use a mesh stencil or stamp like this one or this one to create and cut out a paper border design that would give sort of the same effect.
- Faux Flowers: I used flowers by Prima and Hot Off the Press to create the card you see pictured above. The flowers I used have been discontinued, but you can use just about any Prima flowers or other similar flowers to create a similar effect on your handmade greeting cards.
- Brad: I used a brad by Amy Butler / K & Company that has now been discontinued, but there are many other unique and lovely brads available that you could use.
- Decorative Scissors: I used Fiskars Paper Edgers in several different designs: Victorian Paper Edgers, Paper Seagull Paper Edgers and Fiskars Mini Scallop Paper Edgers. You can still buy some of these Paper Edgers at Dick Blick.
- Fiskars 1/16” Circle Hand Punch
- Sharpie Marker
- Cardstock
- Zip Dry Paper Glue
- Patterned paper
