Downsides to the Mini White Splendour Anemone Stamp Set by Altenew

I don’t actually think there are any cons to this stamp set; for me, the set has been all positive. But, a single stamp set cannot be all things to all people — and this one certainly is not.

If you’re looking for a stamp set offering large images, or a large stamp set with many different stamps in it, this stamp set probably isn’t going to be what you want. It is a very small set with small images; in particular, the sentiments are quite tiny. Don’t buy this if you need large sentiments!

The Verdict: I Highly Recommend the Mini White Splendour Anemone Stamp Set to Other Crafters!

I haven’t been disappointed with the purchase. These stamps totally lived up to my expectations. When I use high-quality inks to do my stamping, I’ve found that the resulting images have consistently been crisp and pretty .

Overall, I have found all the stamps in this set to be really helpful for a variety of uses, particularly for Card Making . I highly recommend this set to other crafters who want to stamp pretty floral and leaf images on their paper craft projects.

Other Craft Supplies You Will Need for Stamping With Altenew’s Mini White Splendour Anemone Stamp Set

To use this stamp set to its best advantage, you’ll need some additional craft supplies beyond just the stamps themselves.

You’ll need one or more ink pads to use for inking up the image to stamp. I recommend using at least two different colors of ink – ideally a green color for the leaves and a different color for the flowers. You might (or might not) also want a different color for stamping the sentiments.

You’ll also need a surface like paper to stamp on. If you aren’t sure which paper to use, check out Neenah’s 110-lb cover stock in the Solar White color as one possibility to consider.

You might want to get the coordinating Mini White Splendour Anemone die set, which makes it possible to easily cut out your stamped images. The die set is nice to have if you think you’ll want to collage with your stamped images or place them on top of a patterned background.

Otherwise, the coordinating dies are not necessarily must-have items. I don’t have the coordinating dies for this particular stamp set, and I have been getting along without them just fine.

If you take a careful look at the project image I posted above, you can see how I stamped these floral and leaf images multiple times, directly onto my planner layout. So this is one possible way to use these images.

You can see another option here, too; I stamped and cut out a floral image using a different stamp set, and then I used a circle stencil to draw around the stamped image. Then I cut it out with scalloped decorative scissors. You can use this idea with the White Splendour Anemone stamps if you like, or with any stamps you happen to have on hand.

It is also possible to just “fussy cut” out the image the slow, old-fashioned way. That said, if you have more money than time, I’d recommend purchasing the coordinating dies along with the stamp set, because the dies are definitely a time saver.

You might or might not want to use one or more instruments for coloring your stamped images:

  • You could use Altenew’s Artist Markers;
  • You could use Copic Ciao markers;
  • You could use Tombow brush markers;
  • You could use watercolor paints;
  • You could use colored pencils;
  • Or you could choose not to use any coloring media, and just leave the stamped image white (or whatever color your paper is).

    Pro Tip: Coloring is time consuming, and I don’t always want to take the time to do it. In cases where you’re pressed for time, you can simply stamp on colored cardstock that’s the color you want your finished image to be. For example, if you want to end up with green leaves, stamp your leaf image onto green cardstock. Voila! You’ll have green leaves that you didn’t need to spend time coloring. Or if you do want to color, you can at least save time not having to start from plain white.
