Outstanding Crochet Books Published by Stackpole Books
1. Delicate Crochet: 23 Light and Pretty Designs for Shawls, Tops and More
By Sharon Silverman, Published by Stackpole Books
Important Note: Many of the pages on this website are unbiased crochet book reviews. However, this one is NOT — because on this page, I am writing about a book I contributed to. So please do not think of this as a book review. Instead, think of it as a preview of the book being shared by a proud contributor — because that is exactly what it is!
Learn More About Delicate Crochet:
Type of Book: Crochet pattern book.
Why you’d want to own this book:
- The 23 stylish crochet patterns in this book were designed by some of the rock stars of crocheting — Kristin Omdahl, Robyn Chachula, Sharon Silverman, Marty Miller, Vashti Braha and others. You’ll LOVE the variety of exciting patterns these designers have contributed to the book.
- Most of the projects in this book share a magical, drapey quality that is quite enchanting.
- The projects in this book strike a fantastic balance between beautiful and practical. For example, the fingerless gloves are soooo pretty — but they’ll also keep your hands warm while allowing you to text, drive, type or do whatever else you need to accomplish. The tops and shawls are all totally wearable.

- If you want to crochet hats, this book will give you 31 different options for styles you can make — and all of them are stylish and on-trend for 2025.

For its asking price, you get $124 worth of hat patterns (estimated value based on the fact that the author sells some, but not all, of these patterns at Ravelry for $4 EACH.) However, the book does also include options for knitting 2 solid-colored sock patterns plus a couple of striped sock patterns — so if you are not yet confident in your stranded colorwork knitting skills, you will have a few other options you can use.
