Crocheting for children is so much fun. When you’re making projects for kids, you can choose bright colors, cute patterns and fun themes. Not only that, the projects tend to be small, so you can usually finish them much more quickly than you would finish a comparable adult-sized project. If you’re interested in crocheting something wonderful for any of the kids in your life, we invite you to consider our top picks for the best kids’ crochet pattern books.
Crochet for Girls
This book is filled with patterns for girls — 23 of them in all. The book includes patterns for crocheting a diverse number of wardrobe items. In addition to the usual sweater and hat patterns, you also get patterns for crocheting dresses, a skirt, a poncho, cute purses and a bunch of unusual accessories. The accessory patterns include leg warmers (the stitch pattern complements the design of one of the sweaters, so you could make a coordinating set), a lace Peter Pan-style collar, and others. So if there’s a little girl on your gift list who wears a clothing size between four and ten, this is definitely a book you’ll want to consider adding to your library.

Imagical Seasons Spring
If you’re specifically interested in crocheting lovely, lacy, feminine springtime projects for the little girls in your life, Imagical Seasons Spring is the crochet pattern book I’d recommend you look at first. The projects in this book are totally spectacular — and that’s actually an understatement.
Imagical Seasons Summer
It’s not easy to find viable summer crochet patterns, but this book is an example of some good ones. The book is filled with super pretty, feminine and charming summer patterns to crochet for little girls. They’re super cute designs that any little girl is sure to love!
Baby Blueprint Crochet
If you want to crochet sweaters or layette items for babies and toddlers, this book is worth considering. There are sooo many practical projects included in this book: baby blankets; sweaters; footwear including socks, booties and boots; a wool diaper cover; baby toys and more.
One caveat: Many of the patterns in this book are vaguely retro, and were heavily influenced by the late 1970s / early 1980s design aesthetic. So if that’s your style, you’re likely to love this book. If you aren’t sure whether you’d like it or not, you can see a preview of the book at Amazon by using the “Look Inside” feature.
The patterns included in the book are suitable for little boys and little girls — boys are definitely not left out of the fun here.
