The little island of Santa Maria in the Azores, Portugal has a road rally every summer. People come from all over Europe to watch it.
My husband and I coincidentally arrived on Santa Maria Island via sailboat the week of the road rally. We were thrilled!
We had been at sea for 31 days after many horrific storms, and it was delightful to be able to relax a bit, watch the race and get in on the excitement.
In the pics, you can see a very sunburned me at the road rally preview the day before the actual race. The people on my right-hand side were speaking German, and the people on my left-hand side were speaking French. It was a super fun time!
More About This Paper Craft Project:
I used a mix of new and old craft supplies to create this page for my 6″x8″ travel scrapbook.
I used Waffle Flower’s Pennant Banner stencil to create the banner and an Altenew oval-shaped label from their Dot labels stamp set to create the oval-shaped label.
I stamped the date on the label, and then I fussy cut around it with Fiskars Paper Edgers.
The black cardstock, red cardstock, and yellow dot patterned paper are all from 2008ish — no idea who made them. There’s also red patterned paper that I’m pretty sure was Daisy D’s. Do you remember them? (No?)
The grungy yellow paper is by Craft Consortium, from their Grunge Light pad.
I also used alphabet letter stamps by Prima to stamp the word “road,” and dies by Altenew to stamp the word “rally”.
Thanks so much for checking out this scrapbooking project idea. I appreciate your interest!
