The Best Things About This Book

The projects in this book are all excellent! It can be a challenge to design beginner-level projects that are also stylish, wearable and appealing — yet the author, Nicole, delivers these types of projects beyond all expectations. These are projects you’re likely to be excited to wear or gift after you’ve finished making them.

The instructions in this book are clear, approachable and understandable. They’re totally usable and straightforward. Anyone — for example YOU! — could learn to loom knit using these instructions.

The photographs included in this book are amazing! They are both beautiful and useful, as they show off precisely the details you’d want to see as you are learning how to loom knit.

The book is organized in a logical and well-planned way. Each lesson in the book is accompanied by patterns that will help you practice the concepts you’ve learned. By the time you’ve worked your way through the book, you won’t be a beginner at loom knitting any more — and you’ll have learned to make some really cool (and gift worthy!) projects in the process.

Things to Be Aware of Before You Buy This Book

Overall, my experience with this book has been nothing but positive, and I think it’s an exceptional book. However, there is one major frustration that I experienced when working from this book — and that is probably more of a frustration with loom knitting itself than it is with this book specifically.

My biggest frustration was that the projects in the book require a bunch of different loom sizes. Thus, if this book is your step-by-step guide into the world of loom knitting, you’ll need to make an investment of time and money in finding and buying looms in the right size. For total beginners who are using this book, it is not easy to skip around, or to pick and choose the projects you want to make from the book. This is because the lessons in the book are chronological, and they build on each other. So, for example, it doesn’t work to just buy one loom and then work all the projects for that specific loom size; you do actually have to make an investment in multiple looms if you want to work your way through the projects in the book in the intended order.

Luckily, the author has been forthright in recommending the specific brands of looms she prefers to use in her projects — so you have an excellent starting point for finding them.

Conclusion

I’m delighted to recommend this book to other knitting enthusiasts, particularly aspiring and beginning-level loom knitters are are eager to get started with the craft. I think the book is also a good buy for intermediate and advanced level loom knitters who are in search of easy yet sophisticated patterns. This book is a really good value for its asking price (and I’ve linked below to retailers who are discounting this title, which makes it an even better value).
