Types of Paper Craft Projects You Can Make Using the Wildflower Garden Add-On by Altenew

In my opinion, Altenew ‘s Wildflower Garden Add-On works especially well for Card Making . However, you could use it for working on any type of paper craft projects, including the following:

  • Calendar crafts, planners, and bullet journals;
  • Scrapbooks, travel journals, art journals and junk journals;
  • Handmade cards and gifts;
  • Collages, wall art and mixed media art projects;
  • And more!

I’ve been paper crafting for a long time, and I’ve accumulated a bunch of different stamp sets. At this point, I have a broad variety of different images. Most of my stamping needs are well covered, so at this point in my crafting journey, I am highly selective about the stamps I add to my collection.

This set was a must-have for me because these small floral and botanical images will be so useful for the types of projects I create. I am frequently in need of small, unobtrusive images to place in corners of the planner layouts, junk journal pages and scrapbooking layouts I make. This tiny floral stamp set perfectly fits the bill for whawt I need:

  • The imagery is small, so I have lots of options for where to place it; it will fit in the little corners where I most typically need to include a little something that isn’t too distracting.

  • Bonus points! I have the option to make these little floral images multicolored if I want to. Huge win! I already have several other stamps that fill the need for small and unobtrusive images, but none of those can easily be stamped in multiple colors.

  • This is really pretty, and the abstract, painterly florals in this set work well with the bohemian-style artwork I like to create.

So, overall, Altenew’s Wildflower Garden stamp set was a fantastic purchase for me. I paid $4.99 For the stamp set and $6.99 for the coordinating die set, plus tax and shipping. In both cases, this was the full asking price; the items were not on sale when I bought them. Overall, I think these craft supplies were well worth their asking price, and I am highly satisfied with them.

The quality of the stamped images is extremely high. When I use high-quality inks to do my stamping, I’ve found that the resulting images have consistently been clear, crisp and beautiful.

The One and Only Sentiment Included in the Wildflower Garden Add-On Stamp Set by Altenew

Most Altenew stamp sets include multiple sentiments. However, the cute little stamp set pictured here is a mini add-on set. As such, the Wildflower Garden Add-On stamp set is really small and only includes one sentiment, which is “You are great”.

In my opinion, this sentiment, while beautifully scripted and presented, is just kind of mediocre.

“You are great?” This is not epic writing.

But if you are inclined to use a sentiment like this one, card making projects would be the likeliest types of projects you’d use it for. It could also be possible to include this sentiment on tribute-type scrapbooking layouts, like maybe if you’re making a page to document a recent graduation, or the athletes who just won a particular sports game or match.

Personally, I’m pretty unlikely to use this particular sentiment in any of my projects. I haven’t used it yet.

Never say never. There might come a time when this sentiment does happen to fit the bill for some project I am making; you just never know.

I do think the sentiment is presented in an appealing way. I love the way the letters flow into each other and the way they are laid out. The writing is pretty, which does make it a little tempting to use. But I just can’t get past the weak writing enough to use this.

I own a lot of stamp sets and a lot of sentiment stamps; furthermore, I own a lot of alphabet letter stamp sets. So I am able to use those to design my own sentiments when needed. Furthermore, my opinion is that the sentiments I use in card making projects should be powerful ones.

So by now, it’s probably obvious to you that I didn’t buy the Wildflower Garden Add-On Stamp Set for its sentiment. I definitely bought it for the floral and botanical images.

Downsides to the Wildflower Garden Add-On Stamp Set by Altenew

I already mentioned the one and only major con with Altenew’s Wilflower Garden Add-On stamp set: the not-impressive, not-really-useful sentiment stamp it comes with.

If you’re looking for sentiment stamp sets to use for card making, this set is not really going to be your ideal purchase, in my opinion. In that case, I would advise you to check out Pinkfresh Studio’s offerings first, because unique and innovative sentiments are one of the things they are best known for.

Altenew has made some fantastic sentiments, too. But this set isn’t a stellar example of their best work in that department.

But other than that, I don’t think there are any major cons to this stamp set; for me, I skip using the sentiment, but otherwise, I have been pleased with the set and its floral imagery overall.

One other thing: I mentioned that the images in this stamp set are small, but this bears repeating. Some crafters might be disappointed at how tiny this little add-on stamp set is. You shouldn’t buy this if you are looking for large images, because you will be disappointed in that case.

But if you need small images, this stamp set will be just what you need.

The Verdict: I Highly Recommend the Wildflower Garden Add-On to Other Crafters!

Overall, I have found all the stamps in this set to be really helpful for a variety of uses including collages, mixed media art projects, planner layouts, handmade cards, junk journal pages and scrapbooking layouts. I highly recommend this set to other crafters who frequently have a need for stamping small, pretty florals or botanicals in their projects.
