I remember a time when pay phones were available in pretty much every public place.
Although those days are long past, every once in awhile, I discover a pay phone in some unexpected location.

Pictured here is a pay phone my husband, Mike, and I found on the Italian island of Sardinia.
We were surprised to come across it. But there used to be complications with using cell phones outside of your local area, so at the time, we were glad it was available.
