1. Crochet Kaleidoscope

Crochet Kaleidoscope: Shifting Shapes and Shades Across 100 Motifs by Sandra Eng, Published by Interweave Press.

Crochet Kaleidoscope: Shifting Shapes and Shades Across 100 Motifs by Sandra Eng, Published by Interweave Press.

Crochet Kaleidoscope is currently my favorite book of crochet motif patterns. So far, I have made 6 AMAZING projects that were inspired by this book, and I have plans to make a few dozen more.

This book has three major selling points. The first: There’s a spectacular variety of different shapes presented in the book. For example, really good crochet octagon patterns aren’t easy to find — and this book has them, along with beautiful and well thought out circles, granny squares, hexagons and flowers.

The second: There are finished projects included in this book, and they are all simply spectacular.

The third: This book contains lessons in color theory that are written just for crochet enthusiasts — unlike most color theory books, which are written for graphic designers, web designers, artists and interior designers. So if you are perplexed about how to choose the best colors for your crochet projects, this is a book you absolutely need. I highly recommend it!
